my daughter is two and a half and has type one diabetes, coeliac disease and under active thyroidism. we went for her thre monthly check at diabetic clinic today, where we saw a dietitio who, has suggested that my daughter may hyper sensitive to wheat and barley malt extract, which if she is cuts down her diet even more or at least makes it more difficult, as all branded and supermarket own brand cereals contain barley malt extract. this may be why she is still showing symptoms of coeliac even though she has been on a gluten free diet as far as we have known for the last six months. so if anyon e out there is still struggling to feel well on a gluten free diet, it may be worth looking at this.
