this is not a trick question i assure you. I have a rare type of crones where I just suffer from extremly painful and infected ulcers from the mouth to the backside to the front, I am lucky in a sense that i do not suffer from the bowel, but research is scarce and i have yet to find anyone who has the same type as me.

Does anyone have this type of crones, I have now had it 20 years and it would be good to chat to someone who has.

I had crohns on my lower lip and colon...I didn't care so much about the colon but my swollen lip debilitated me, so much so that I was scared to smile or even speak,,,,my social life ceased to exist! I would take prednisone and it would temporarily take away the lip swelling but as soon as I stopped taking it, it would reappear. The people who have it in their bowels have it easy in my opinion; having crohn's on your lip just destroys you, because you have to walk around with a lip the size of a lemon and people look at you like you're some kind of freak....I remember when I first got the lip thing, I slept one night in perfect health and I woke up with a swollen lip. And I remember when it healed; I slept with a swollen lip and woke up with a healthy looking one....that is how strange this disease is, it literally comes and goes overnight!

I no longer have any symptoms of crohn's disease in my body, because in a way the personality that manifested the disease is non-existent. I have developed a new personality and belief system. James perhaps the reason you've had this problem for 20 years is because you've had the same personality for 20 years. Turn your life upside down and change your beliefs and it will go as quick as it came.
